Very nearly perfect
I use this with my Wise Owl Outfitters Flare underquilt and Doubleowl hammock for both camping (backpacking and drive-in camp sites) and for sleeping in my back yard. This net accommodates a diagonal lay in my double hammock, but ends up with my outside elbow pressed against the mesh. Mosquitoes CAN bite through the mesh, so (after getting 17 bites at my elbow in one night) I make sure to line that edge of the hammock with a bit of sleeping bag or wear a sweatshirt. This net is far better than one attached to the top side of a hammock because I can sleep without a sleeping bag or underquilt without getting bitten through the bottom of the hammock.Set-up- Very easy. Just string the included line between the trees the hammock will hang from, hook the net, then feed the hammock ends through the ends of the net, from the inside. Tighten the draw-cords and you're done. At the height I hang things, the bottom of the net hits the ground, but I lay a bathmat underneath it to protect the net from the ground and where I leave my shoes at night. Leaving my shoes directly under the hammock protects them from dew. This net works both on trees of varying girths and distances, and on my hammock stand. The line that comes with the bug net is generously long, so it can handle quite a span if need be.Pack-up- If I'm not traveling, I leave the hammock inside the bug net and stuff both into a pillowcase to store with my camping gear. Rope for the net and tree straps for the hammock fit nicely into the bug net bag so they don't get tangled with the carabiners, and they don't get misplaced since the bag is attached to the net. For traveling, the net and rope fit easily into the attached bag, and the buckled strap can be used to compress the bag and attach it to a backpack.Durability- After a year of frequent use, the zipper still works perfectly and has only snagged on the mesh a handfull of times without causing any rips. I'm careful with it, though, so not sure how it would hold up in the hands of someone less cautious (i.e. a child or distracted teen). There are a few tiny pills in the body of the net, just from the friction of use and repeated packing/unpacking, but no holes. The hooks are all still securely attached and all the seams and stitching are intact.Improvements- It's really great as-is, and my suggestions would increase weight and size so maybe not appropriate for backpacking. It would be great to have a spreader bar at one end to keep the net off my elbow so I could sleep without a sleeping bag or sweatshirt on hot nights. I'd love to have a zipper on both sides, just for the sake of laziness and not having to think about which way the net is hung. A small, reinforced area in the "floor" might be nice to take shoes, and maybe a pet, inside the net, and also to protect the dangling edge from the ground.Aside from all that, I love this net. It's the best I've found so far, and the price is remarkably reasonable.

2 full years of use
So I have officially used this bug net for over 2 years. Since my last review a year ago, my opinion on this net has changed a bit. My biggest gripe is the ridgeline. I ended up losing it and net cannot be held up without it. It’s been surprisingly troublesome to find a rope that is strong but also thin enough for the hooks to latch onto. The pouch in which the net packs into hangs at the bottom, so it gets dirty easily. I tried a different brand’s bug net that has a horizontal zipper instead of a vertical one and found that to be more comfortable to get in and out of and it also has a built in ridgeline. HOWEVER, that bug net is over twice the price of Wise Owl’s. I’ve also gotten spoiled since this bug net was my first ever bug net and I have since seen/tried out other ones. I still snag the net sometimes but it has held up with 0 runs or tears. After hammock camping for a while, I’ve learned this bug net isn’t quite for me but it is an excellent bug net for intro/budget hammock campers or for casual hammocking.————————————-Original Review:I’ve been a tent camper but decided to try hammock camping since I heard it can be cooler than tents for hot nights. I have the Wise Owl double hammock that’s going 1 yr strong of constant use so I decided to stick with Wise Owl for the bug net and rain tarp. The bug net is more affordable than other hammock brands too.Set-up is so incredibly easy and I watched their short YouTube video on it before using it. I’ve used it for multiple overnight camping and it’s been wonderful. The mosquitos and horse flies during the summer are relentless, but I’m safe inside my hammock. This set-up is also better than the hammocks that come with a bug net sewn onto them as those tend to sink onto you. This stays propped away from me all the way around. I thought the material would be a little rough, but it’s actually very soft to the touch. Like the hammock, the bug net’s containment bag is attached at the center so you don’t have to worry about where you place it after setting up the net.Hammock camping has been a life changer. I don’t have to worry about damp grounds and my backpack has gotten significantly lighter. Set-up is also faster than a tent (for me at least). Unsure if I’ll stick to hammock camping in the winter, but it’s now definitely my summer go-to. I’m going to look into Wise Owl’s underquilt to add to my collection. Some tips:• Be careful with any mildly sharp objects you may have. They can get caught on the net and possibly tear it a bit. The net is very fine and soft, and does seem to snag easily. I haven’t torn mine but some snagging from my watch or jacket zippers has happened.• The netting, while very fine and good at preventing small bugs, isn’t fully breathable. Meaning that it is warmer inside of it as not much breeze gets through. This is good for cooler weather since it helps insulate heat, but isn’t great for the hottest days.• Highly recommend watching their YouTube tutorial and practice setting it up in your backyard or at a park before committing to camping in it.

Use in the backcountry and front country a lot! Keeps mosquitos, bugs, unwanted pets out and is super easy to use! Had to practice setting it up first as a test run, once I figured it out, it became really easy and can have hammock camping set up in under 8 minutes.
